What does your child learn at school each day? Find information about our curriculum subjects here.
At Maidensbridge we believe in providing a curriculum which enables children to develop to their true potential, no matter what their ability and skill level. We strive hard to reach statutory targets and will always keep parents and children informed with regards to progress in the core subjects to help us to reach those targets. The primary curriculum though is about much more that reaching targets. We believe in encouraging children to enquire, to challenge, to test out and ask questions, to learn from enjoyment and experience.
Staff are given the freedom to design their class curriculum, based on key skills and questions, to engage the children and help them to grow into confident learners and people.
On each class page you will find the curriculum for that year group, currently being studied. This is regularly changed and adapted to the children's needs as the topics progress.
In addition to the formal curriculum, we also provide many enrichment activities to develop children in areas such as arts, sport, citizenship and as a result the school is always a busy and vibrant place. There are not many weeks where something new and exciting is not being experienced!
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNDER EACH YEAR GROUP (below) YOU WILL FIND A FULL 12 MONTHS OF CURRICULUM PLANS, AS WE CHANGE THESE TERM-ON-TERM TO REFLECT THE CHANGING COHORTS AND THEIR NEEDS.
