Football Tournament is a close call

At a thrilling 7-a-side football tournament this evening our U11 team did really well to match the achievement of last year's team. The tournament, held under floodlights at Thorns Community College, featured teams from across the Brierley Hill & Dudley Schools FA. The team did really well, drawing one game against Belle Vue before beating St. Mary's, Glynne and Foxyards on the way to the final. Yet again our team were pitched against Wall Heath neighbours Church of the Ascension. Despite having nearly all of the possession and attacking repeatedly the game finished as a draw and was still at deadlock after extra-time. Despite a great initial save from Connor to keep the ball out from the first penalty, the team ended up losing with the last kick of the match. Congratulations to our local neighbours for their win and huge congratulations to our team, who we were proud to see end as runners-up for the second season running.
