Gymnasts take silver medal in Dudley Competition
Our Year 5 and 6 gymnasts won silver medals in the Dudley Schools' Gymnastics competition at The David Lloyd Centre.
The competition featured twenty-two teams from several Dudley schools in each of the three primary age categories. Maidensbridge had two teams in each age group and had a large contingent of thirty children participating.
However, one of our Year 5 and 6 teams, performed incredibly well to score a wonderful 74.9 on the day. This is the first time that the school has won a medal at these championships, as the medals are usually dominated by one or two schools who have well-established links with local gymnastics clubs.
All of our children have worked incredibly hard on their routines in recent weeks and months and we are particularly pleased with the the fourth and fifth place standings of our Year 1 and 2 teams. This underlines their potential in the future in gaining further success in the sport.
Thanks should also go to Miss C and our sports coach Laura Stuckey who have worked with the children over the last few months and weeks.
