We are very proud to announce that Maidensbridge Primary school has gained a Gold School Sports Mark for the academic year 2016-17. This joins the gold award that we gained previously in 2015-16.
The award came as a recognition of our excellent provision in providing opportunity for children to gain skills and participate in competitive sport at all levels. As a school, we are incredibly proud of the fact that all our children took part in at least three Inter-house sporting competitions and sixty-three percent of our Key Stage 2 children represented the school in competing against other schools.
The school's successes in inter-school competition in 2016-17 also enabled sixteen Maidensbridge Pupils to represent Dudley at The Black Country Youth Games and Black Country Cross-country Championships. Moreover, three of our pupils represented Maidensbridge at two national competitions.
The school was also recently visited by Lee Edmondson, a sports researcher from Sheffield Hallam University, who moderated our application. He praised and commended our provision as excellent and highlighted how our good practice could be adopted by other schools in Dudley and beyond.
This success belongs to every member of the Maidensbridge school community who have all contributed in some way to this achievement. Thank you!
