The Maidensbridge School Council has again achieved success with a record response to it's Project Gambia Shoe Box Appeal and therefore will help to improve even more lives in The Gambia this Christmas.
This is the second year the School Council has supported this initiative, which aims to provide children in The Gambia with a gift of small toys, clothes and essential items at Christmas and serve as a goodwill gesture between children in very different circumstances.
In 2016, the School Council collected just over a one hundred and ten boxes, but we are delighted to report that this year, we will be sending over one hundred and thirty boxes to The Gambia.
The Shoe Boxes will be collected on Friday and taken to Ridgewood High School in Stourbridge before travelling by container ship to Banjul, the capital of The Gambia in late November.
The School Councillors would like to thank all of our families who have generously contributed to the appeal. More information about the work of Project Gambia can be found at: Project Gambia
