Our children from Years 5 & 6 attended our annual remembrance service at Wall Heath Evangelical Free Church.
This year's event had a great significance in that it was the 100 years since the end of the First World War in 1918. Our Year 6 children presented a series of World War 1 poems which they had written in class and was joined by members of the school council who helped lead the commemoration with the laying of a poppy wreath at the alter.
The event (as always) was a true community occasion; with the children having been joined by a number of parents, grandparents and other members of the community.
Back at school, all members of the school community came together at 11 o'clock to remember the fallen and pay their own respects to those who have or are serving our country.
