Welcome toMaidensbridge Primary SchoolLearning & Achieving Through Experience & Enjoyment

Year 1

18th June. African necklace making. This week in Geography we have been focusing on the continent of Africa, with a focus on Kenya. The children have really enjoyed their exploration into the continent and wanted to carry on with the theme in their activities. Together we decided to make African tribe necklaces and the children have taken great pride in their work. We hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we have enjoyed making them.

Maths WB 14/6/21. This week we have been focusing on counting forwards and backwards within 100. We have really enjoyed exploring the concept of one more and one less. Even more so when we are allowed to write on the tables! Children have had great fun this week all whilst learning fundamental maths skills. You are great mathematicians year one!

8th June. 🚲 Our first session of bike ability. The children thoroughly enjoyed their first session and already cannot wait for their next one. You can see by the smiles and concentration on their faces just how much fun they have had.

25th May. Making imprints in plasticine for our Art project. The children have been working hard collecting natural objects in our forest school. They tried to find objects that would make an interesting print. After we had collected our materials we explored plasticine and the texture to see how flexible it was. Year 1 then pressed their objects into the plasticine and printed the design into their sketchbooks. I am sure you will agree that the children have made some very intricate and interesting patterns. We have had lots of fun exploring plasticine. Well done you are brilliant artists Year 1.

This Easter has been a little different than previous years. Despite the circumstances we still had a great day celebrating. Children in school and at home created some wonderful Easter bonnets and had an opportunity to have an online Easter bonnet parade. It was truly EGGcelent. πŸ₯š πŸ₯
